You will need:

  • Engine oil filter

  • Engine oil

  • Oil pan

  • Wrench

  • Socket wrench

  • Oil filter wrench

  • Gloves

  • Rag

Step 1: Run engine to warm oil.

Step 2: Raise hood and remove right side panel with socket wrench.

Step 3: Place drain pan under the plug.

Step 4: Using your wrench and gloves, undo the drain plug and let the oil drain completely.

Step 5: Replace the drain plug, being careful not to overtighten.

Step 6: Remove the oil filter with the oil filter wrench. Lefty loosey, righty tighty.

Step 7: Apply some clean oil to the new engine oil filter.

Step 8: Install the new oil filter.

Step 9: Use a rag to wipe away any loose dirt or debris.

Step 10: After checking your operator’s manual, fill the oil to its proper capacity.

Step 11: Start your engines!

Step 12: Check for any leaks.

Step 13: Turn off your engine.

Step 14: Top off your oil, if necessary. Careful not to overfill!

Step 15: Replace the side panel using your socket wrench. Close your hood, and you’re good to go!
